BIOGRAPHY
Our Pastor, Rev. Heyward D. Wiggins III, is the son of Cornelia L. Wiggins and the late Heyward D. Wiggins Jr., he is the third of 6 children. He has been married to the Rev. Dr. Gloria J. Wiggins, since October 1980. He is the father of Heyward the 4th and Regina, and the father-in-law of Andrea Wiggins and Jonathan Peden. He also is the grandfather of Jameson and Destiny Wiggins.
Pastor Wiggins was granted pastorship of Camden Bible Tabernacle, in June 1997. A product of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, he was licensed in 1991 and Ordained in 1996, under the Pastorate of the late Rev. James C. Jones.
While at Mt. Calvary, Pastor Wiggins served as a Deacon, the Youth Outreach Coordinator of Lakeland Correctional Facilities, and taught Youth Bible Study. He was also involved in the prison ministry, street outreach ministry and the nursing home ministry.
Civically, he served as the Chairman of Camden Churches Organized for People Committee, for 3 years and prior to that title, Vice Chair for 4 years. He also served on the National Board for the PICO Network, a multi-religion organization, which helps to shape national policy around health care. He is currently the President of Faith in New Jersey, a statewide Faith-Based community organization, and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Youth Correctional Complex, of the state of NJ.
Pastor Wiggins believes that his ministry is primarily the saving of souls, and the bettering of lives lived here on earth.
